Who this policy covers
This Privacy Policy applies to ChargeBell's public website, authenticated web app, support communications, and related services. ChargeBell sends Stripe payment alerts to Slack for business users.
If you use ChargeBell for an organization, you represent that you are authorized to connect that organization's Stripe and Slack workspaces.
Information you provide
- Account information, such as email address, display name, company or workspace name, timezone, default currency, and authentication details.
- Google OAuth sign-in information, if you choose to sign in with Google, such as your Google account identifier, email address, name, profile image, OAuth tokens, token expiry, and scope, depending on what Google provides and what ChargeBell needs for authentication.
- Support information, such as messages you send us, issue descriptions, attachments you choose to provide, and contact details.
- Billing information needed to manage plans, invoices, subscriptions, renewals, cancellations, taxes, and payment-related support.
- Preferences, such as enabled alert types, selected Slack channel, and account settings.
Information from Stripe, Slack, and Google
- Stripe connection data, including connected account ID, account name when available, OAuth tokens, token scope, mode, connection timestamps, and disconnection status.
- Stripe sales and alert metadata needed to deliver alerts, track alert history, enforce plan limits, and troubleshoot delivery, such as event type, event ID, object ID, customer name or email when included by Stripe, amount, currency, status, error message, and timestamps.
- Slack connection data, including workspace ID, workspace name, bot user ID, OAuth token, available channel IDs and names, selected channel, private or archived channel status, and connection timestamps.
- Google OAuth data needed to authenticate your account, maintain sessions, secure access, and support account recovery where applicable.
- We use Stripe, Slack, and Google OAuth data to operate ChargeBell. We do not sell this data, share it with data brokers, or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising, retargeting, credit decisions, or unrelated marketing.
- We do not use your Stripe customer data for unrelated purposes. We use customer names, emails, amounts, currencies, statuses, and related sales metadata only when needed to deliver alerts, show alert history, troubleshoot, prevent abuse, comply with law, or support the account.
- ChargeBell tracks Stripe sales and payment events for notification and account-history purposes only. ChargeBell does not create, edit, refund, cancel, dispute, or otherwise modify your Stripe customers, payments, subscriptions, refunds, disputes, products, prices, or account settings as part of alert tracking.
Technical information
We may collect standard technical data such as IP address, user agent, device and browser information, session identifiers, authentication timestamps, error logs, and security events. We use this data to keep the service reliable, secure, and abuse-resistant.
The public marketing site does not need advertising trackers to explain ChargeBell. If we add analytics or similar tools later, we will update this policy to describe the collection and choices available.
How we use information
- Provide, maintain, secure, and improve ChargeBell.
- Authenticate users, including through email and password or Google OAuth where offered, and protect accounts from unauthorized access.
- Connect Stripe and Slack, track Stripe sales and payment events for alerts, deliver Slack notifications, show alert history, enforce plan limits, and troubleshoot failures.
- Manage billing, plan limits, invoices, trials, upgrades, downgrades, and cancellations.
- Respond to support, privacy, security, legal, and copyright requests.
- Comply with law, enforce our Terms, prevent abuse, and protect the rights of ChargeBell, customers, and others.
How we share information
We share information only as needed to provide the service, comply with law, protect rights and security, or complete a business transaction such as a merger, acquisition, financing, or asset sale.
- Service providers that host, secure, monitor, support, bill, or operate ChargeBell.
- Stripe, when you connect Stripe or when ChargeBell receives and processes Stripe events for your account.
- Slack, when you connect Slack, select channels, or when ChargeBell sends alerts to your chosen workspace or channel.
- Google, when you choose Google OAuth for sign-in or when Google must validate or manage authentication for your account.
- Authorities, courts, counterparties, or advisors when required by law or needed to protect legal rights.
- Successors or assigns if ChargeBell is involved in a corporate transaction, subject to appropriate protections.
Retention and deletion
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide ChargeBell, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and operate reliable backups.
You can disconnect Stripe or Slack from the app. Disconnection stops future use of that integration, but some records may remain for billing, security, audit, support, legal, backup, or alert-history purposes until deletion is appropriate.
Security
We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including access controls, secure authentication practices, encrypted transport, encryption at rest through our infrastructure and storage providers, and limited operational access. Sensitive integration credentials and OAuth tokens are treated as confidential operational secrets and protected with restricted access.
No internet service can guarantee perfect security, but we work to collect only what we need, protect it, and dispose of it responsibly.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, object to, or opt out of certain processing of your personal information. You may also have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising privacy rights.
California residents may request information about collection, use, disclosure, sale, or sharing of personal information; request deletion or correction; opt out of sale or sharing; limit certain sensitive personal information uses where applicable; and use an authorized agent where the law allows. ChargeBell does not sell personal information, Stripe data, sales data, Slack data, Google OAuth data, or customer data, and does not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
People in the EEA, UK, and similar jurisdictions may also have rights tied to lawful bases, including performance of a contract, legitimate interests, consent, and legal obligations.
Children
ChargeBell is a business service and is not intended for children. You must be at least 18 years old to use ChargeBell. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided us personal information, contact privacy@chargebell.com.
International transfers
ChargeBell may process information in countries other than where you live. When required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers and expect our service providers to protect information consistent with this policy and applicable law.
Changes and contact
We may update this Privacy Policy as ChargeBell changes. If the changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify users through the service, by email, or by updating this page.
